Vegas has a unique feature that is integrated with 24p DV. Vegas include a large category of tools that include 3D track motion and spatial arrangement of visual planes in the field of motion graphics and composting. If you already have a video editing program you like, there's no need to use Open Shot, but if you don't have one, it's worth giving the free Open Shot a try. Magix (or MAGIX Software) is a German software company that develops software for video editing, audio editing, DAW and photo. In 2016, Sony Vegas Pro was sold to Magix and said that it will continue to develop it just like Sony did. While Open Shot is easy to learn and use, you can get up to speed much quicker by watching the training videos on YouTube by Jonathan Thomas, creator of Open Shot. Discover how to cut, split & trim videos into several clips fast & easily. Then you import your media (video, audio and photos), place them on the timeline, do any needed editing, add transitions, and when you like the results, choose 'export video'. Cutting & trimming is much faster in VEGAS Pro than in the other softwares. There are over 20 to choose from, for both NTSC and PAL. You start a new project by clicking on the film strip icon in the top menu to choose a project profile. All very reminiscent of the latest version of Vegas Movie Studio. The video and audio tracks are on the timeline below a large preview window on the right of the screen. It has tabs for project files, transitions and effects and has a top menu item to add titles.
